In the National Park El Manu experience, we enter a lower level of altitude into the Cloud Forest, still connected to the mountains, although now we are exploring the southern jungle of Perú, a closer interaction with the immense biodiversity, dense rainforests, meandering rivers and tranquil lagoons as you enter a rich ecosystem, and everything feels incredibly alive and hot!
Manu is also home to a variety of wildlife, from beautiful and colorful tropical birds such as macaws and toucans to jaguars, sloths and monkeys. You will have the opportunity to observe these creatures in their natural habitat.

Tour Plan
5:00hrs. We depart from Cusco early in the morning on private transportation. On the way we will stop and visit the pre-Inca burial towers of Ninamarca, known as CHULLPAS.
Then we will be arriving at Paucartambo, the border town between the mountains and the Amazonia, a picturesque small town. There we will enjoy breakfast and visit the colonial museum.
We will continue our journey up to the highest point before descending into the Cloud Forest, Accjanaco which is at 3850 masl. The Cloud Forest is home to the “Andean Bear” made famous by Paddington and “The Cock of the Rock” (The Peruvian National Bird), “Orquis”, “Bromelias” and “Ferns” etc.
We will be making stops along the way to spot birds, monkeys and if we are lucky some bears!
16:00hrs. We will be arriving in Asunción at the Lodge in El Manu.
6:00hrs. We will have breakfast and head to our nature walk to spot birds and monkeys. Then, we will take a 1-hour bus ride to the Atalaya port, where we will embark on a 30-minute boat ride along the river, we will have the opportunity to swim in the river and visit the Machuwasi Lagoon, where we will spot shanshos, monkeys, reptiles, dwarf caimans, capybaras, tapirs, and more.
We will have lunch on the boat and on our way back to the lodge, we will visit an ideal Hummingbird spotting place.
After dinner, we will embark on an intriguing night hike. Overnight stay at the lodge with private bathrooms and showers.
4:00hrs. We get up and head off to Atalaya port to take a boat that will take us to observe the parakeets and parrots at the clay lick, a wonderful experience to observe while you enjoy the sunrise. Then we will have breakfast and continue our day with a jungle walk for wildlife sightings. Right after we will be stopping at Pilcopata for lunch and continue our trip to Asuncion for a dip in the Hospital river.
6:30hrs We have breakfast, go for a short walk to spot some monkeys (optional) and then we get ready for our trip back to the city. We will be arriving in Cusco 13:30hrs. approx.
