This trek leads you through the pathway through the mountains crossing from the Sacred Valley to the Lares Valley, before you unfold breathtaking landscapes hidden from the everyday city life, allowing you to encounter endemic animals such as the puma, bizcacha, Andean rabbit, etc.
Transitioning from lush valleys to rugged peaks, you’ll experience a diverse ecosystem that this route boasts. Moreover, while the Lares Trek is less frequented than its counterparts, it doesn’t skimp on the allure.

Tour Plan
05.30hrs. We depart Cusco on a private bus to the Sacred Valley. On the way we make a stop in the town of Urubamba, to have breakfast.
07:30hrs. We head to Pumahuanca the starting point of the trek. (25 minutes). After 3to 4hours we reach the archeological complex of CHUPANI, and continue the walk passing the community of PACCHA
Approximately at 14 – 15hrs we reach our camping site CUYOC at 4010msnm. A harbored Queñua trees woods, known for their medicinal properties.
7:30hrs. After enjoying breakfast we head off to the PUMAHUANCA pass (4780msnm) from there we will be able to capture wonderful views of the Chicón, San Juan and “La Verónica” peaks and contemplate Maras town and Las Salineras salt beds.
At 11hrs approximately, we start descending to the valley of Lares. We will stop for lunch at the largest town in the valley, Cuncani (3900msnm).
Cuncani’s inhabitants are well known for their unique and original textiles which are also waterproof!
Finally, we arrive at the hot springs of Lares close to 15:30hrs. Where we can rest and enjoy the water and its anti-inflammatory properties. Letting our bodies relax.
